How it works
One ranking, used everywhere on the site.
We score drivers the way our fitting does: swing speed, handicap, usual miss, ball flight and budget go in, and each driver in our catalog gets a match score out of 100 with the reasons behind it. This page runs your current driver and our three best through that same ranking.
The score is how well the design fits your swing. It can't see your club's condition or how you strike the ball, and it leaves the shaft out: give your shaft and its flex and we check it separately, with the same flex, weight and kick point rules as our fitting. Prices shown are launch prices from our catalog, not today's.
How do I know if I need a new driver?
Look at how your driver fits your swing today, not at its age. If your swing speed, usual miss or budget have changed, or the head or shaft no longer suits how you swing, a different design may help. Run it through this check, then confirm on a launch monitor, because the numbers there show what your own swing does with it.
Does a newer driver always go further?
No. A newer model is not automatically a better fit for your swing. What matters is whether its design, launch and forgiveness suit your speed and miss. Our ranking does give newer models a few extra points, so this check tells you how much of any gap is age and how much is fit.
What does the match score mean?
It is how well a driver's design fits your swing by our ranking, out of 100. It is the same score our fitting uses. It does not see the condition of your club or how you strike the ball, and the shaft is left out of it, so treat it as a guide and not a ruling. If you give your shaft and its flex, we check the shaft on its own against the flex and weight we would fit at your swing; that never changes the score.
