How it works
One ranking, used everywhere on the site.
We score fairway woods the way our fitting does: swing speed, handicap, usual miss, ball flight and budget go in, and each fairway wood in our catalog gets a match score out of 100 with the reasons behind it. This page runs your current fairway wood and our three best through that same ranking.
The score is how well the design fits your game. It can't see your club's condition, its shaft, loft or length, or how you strike the ball. Prices shown are launch prices from our catalog, not today's.
How do I know if I need a new fairway wood?
Look at how your fairway wood fits your game today, not at its age. If your handicap, swing speed or usual miss have changed, a different type of fairway wood may help: more forgiving as the scores go up, lower spinning as they come down. Run it through this check, then confirm with a fitter or a launch monitor, because the numbers there show what your own swing does with it.
Do newer fairway woods always perform better?
No. A newer fairway wood is not automatically a better fit for your game. What matters is whether its design suits your handicap and speed. Our ranking does give newer models a few extra points, so this check tells you how much of any gap is age and how much is fit.
What does the match score mean?
It is how well a fairway wood fits your game by our ranking, out of 100. It is the same score our fitting uses. It does not see the condition of your club, its shaft, loft or length, or how you strike the ball, so treat it as a guide and not a ruling.
