Hybrid check

Is my hybrid still right for me?

Tell us your hybrid and your game. We score it with the same ranking as our free fitting, and show the three hybrids we would put in your hands today.

Your hybrid
Your game

Our fitting ranks hybrids from your driver swing speed. Not sure of it? Give your usual driver distance, with roll, and we estimate it. A speed wins if you give both.

About this check

How it works

One ranking, used everywhere on the site.

We score hybrids the way our fitting does: swing speed, handicap, usual miss, ball flight and budget go in, and each hybrid in our catalog gets a match score out of 100 with the reasons behind it. This page runs your current hybrid and our three best through that same ranking.

The score is how well the design fits your game. It can't see your club's condition, its shaft, loft or length, or how you strike the ball. Prices shown are launch prices from our catalog, not today's.

How do I know if I need a new hybrid?

Look at how your hybrid fits your game today, not at its age. If your handicap, swing speed or usual miss have changed, a different type of hybrid may help: more forgiving as the scores go up, lower spinning as they come down. Run it through this check, then confirm with a fitter or a launch monitor, because the numbers there show what your own swing does with it.

Do newer hybrids always perform better?

No. A newer hybrid is not automatically a better fit for your game. What matters is whether its design suits your handicap and speed. Our ranking does give newer models a few extra points, so this check tells you how much of any gap is age and how much is fit.

What does the match score mean?

It is how well a hybrid fits your game by our ranking, out of 100. It is the same score our fitting uses. It does not see the condition of your club, its shaft, loft or length, or how you strike the ball, so treat it as a guide and not a ruling.
